Chihuahua Art

Traditional Spanish artists depicted images of Chihuahuas in their art. Sandro Botticelli even included one of these small dogs in his work on the Sistine Chapel, where a person in the crowd of 'Scenes from the Life of Moses' is seen holding one of the ancient dogs in his arms. Another famous traditional artist, Italian painter Vittore Carpaccio, chose to include one of these dogs in his famous 1510 painting 'Two Women/Two Courtesans' where the chihuahua immediately draws attention by staring out of the painting at the viewer.
