Georgia O'Keeffe Landscape Paintings
Georgia O'Keeffe painted many landscapes in her time. Most of these were done out west in New Mexico or in NY at Lake George. These prints reflect the way Georgia saw and felt the world around her.
There is a common thread seen in many prints done in New Mexico which shows her fascination with certain elements of the desert, like animal bones, particularly skulls. You see this trend in many prints such as: Pelvis with the Distance, Ram's Head White Hollyhock and Little Hills, and Deer's Skull with Pedernal.
Many of O'Keeffe's other landscape prints reflect rich color and beauty rather than the starkness of the desert. Namely, some of these prints are Lake George Autumn 1927, Blue River, and Waterfall No. III 'IaoValley.
