Jane Mayday has loved art for as long as she can remember. She actually began her career at the age of 14 years. She started her career as a scientific illustrator working with the University of Florida. Once she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ringling College of Art and Design, Jane was recruited by Hallmark Cards Inc, where she worked as a greeting card illustrator. Even though her scientific past helps her add an element of realism to her artwork, the artist soon discovered she enjoys more painting the outsides of animals than to the insides. She decided to leave the corporate world after her children were born and she moved to Colorado. Jane’s art has adorned more than 20 children’s books, as well as collector’s ornaments, plates, t-shirts, cards, jigsaw puzzles, garden flags, and much more.
Just recently, the artist added author to her list of accomplishments. She’s now an author who writes books including the art instruction book, “Adorable Animals You Can Paint” which is now among the best-selling books published by F&W Publications. She has also written several smaller works and magazine articles. In addition to the Colorado Landscape which is breathtaking, she has two children who inspire her artistic endeavors, a garden for inspiration, and a menagerie of animals, and a great husband to share it all. Her recent F&W books are Landscapes in Bloom and Cute Country Animals You Can Paint. Today, her art adorn the walls of many buildings around the globe.
